Budding New Homes Bakers To Delight Customers At Charity Coffee Morning

With The Great British Bake Off back on our screens; budding bakers at Linden Homes will be preparing their own perfect pastries, terrific tarts and smashing sponges this month!

September 28 is the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, and a number of developments around the Linden Homes Midlands region – in conjunction with the company’s Peterborough-based head office – will be raising a mug and celebrating with a slice to help boost charity coffers.

Colleagues from across all departments at the head office will be tucking into a range of sweet treats and show stopping savouries on Monday 24 September.

Land department PA and baker Janice Browne said: “We always have a lot of fun with our baking and cake sales which always attract tremendous support from everyone at head office, whether as bakers, buyers or both.”

And this year, a number of developments will be doing their bit for the charity too.

Here’s what’s happening near you:

• Saturday 15 September – 12.30-3pm. St Mary’s development at Biddenham, Bedforshire - is planning a meet the neighbours afternoon tea event, with the invitation extended to potential customers and visitors to the development.
• Saturday 22 September – 12-3pm. Goodwin Place / Hasting Gardens at Great Barford, Bedfordshire. As well a the cake sale, residents and visitors are invited to enter the Great Barford Linden Homes Bake Off, with the sales team judging the entries at 2pm. Games and prizes will also form part of the afternoon.
• Wednesday 26 September – Buckby Grange at Higham Ferrers. Coffee morning and cake sale for the trades and contractors working at the development. Cups of coffee and tea will be auctioned off to raise as much money as possible – with the highest bid pledged so far, £100!
• Friday 28 September – The Spinney at Cawston, Rugby – from 11am. Mum and daughter sales team Heather and Holly Jackson will be selling cupcakes and other goodies in the sales and marketing suite to onsite contractors and customers.
