Budding Golfers From Linden Homes Tee-Off In Aid Of Diabetes Research

With the Ryder Cup just around the corner – budding golfers-turned-fundraisers from Linden Homes Midlands have been tee-ing off for charity during their own tournament.

The team from the housebuilder’s annual Charity Golf Day - made up largely of directors and staff from the company’s sub-contractors and suppliers – took to the fairway at Greetham Valley Golf Club.

In a year where Linden Homes’ parent company Galliford Try has been named official supplier to the Ryder Cup 2014, the players used their event to raise funds for the East of England CYP Diabetes Network, an organisation looking at improving care and outcomes in children and young people with diabetes.

A cheque for £5,000 was presented to representatives from the organisation at the end of the day’s play.

Organiser, Linden Homes production manager Don Burley, said: “We had another fantastic day and my thanks to everyone who not only played, but assisted with the raffle, the presentation evening and general success of the event.

“We were delighted to present the proceeds of the event to East of England CYP Diabetes Network who do such a fantastic job in the region.”
