Christmas in 2020 was unlike any other for many, but for Ben and his husband there was more than one reason to celebrate the festivities. Purchasing a new Linden Homes Eveleigh home at Finches Park at the end of the year, the couple were even able to decorate in time for the big day.
Ben said, “From choosing our new home to the day of completion took just two months – within which time we managed to visit at least three or four times thanks to our excitement! The entire process was really easy, from viewings to reservation. The biggest problem we faced was booking in a removals team as they were so busy at the time.”
Ben and his husband took advantage of Linden Homes’ Help to Buy* scheme, which allows first-time buyers to borrow up to 20% (or up to 40% in London) towards the cost of a new-build home.
“We opted for a new-build for minimal maintenance worries. Everything in the house is brand new and we have a two-year warranty on that, as well as a 10-year building warranty which takes a lot of the worry away when buying a house.
“We were so happy to move to Frinton as it is so peaceful and quiet. We moved from elsewhere in the county and feel lucky to be surrounded by countryside and the Essex coast – we really couldn’t be happier. The community in our development is friendly and that has helped us settle in quickly.”
During the height of the COVID-19 lockdowns, Linden Homes began operating on a one-to-one basis for appointments and viewings, due to social distancing and guidelines concerning gatherings.
Ben added, “I loved the appointment service as it meant the sales team were able to focus solely on our meeting and not have to potentially deal with walk-in visitors. We were able to pre-plan our visits and felt extremely valued by the teams on and off site.”
