New Homes Sales Success In St Albans Highlight The City's Two Thousand Year Old Appeal
30 Apr 2012

With a history of more than two thousand years of human habitation, the appeal of St Albans seems to be as strong as ever: After launching on the 31st March, Linden Homes’ King Harry Park development has already sold 50 per cent of its first phase.

So far 15 of the new 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes have been snapped up – several of which will be completed by June, while others have been bought off plan with completion scheduled for December.

Simon Pendlebury, Linden Homes’ Chiltern head of sales and marketing says the reaction has been fantastic:

“The homes are selling really well: Most of the clients are from within a five mile radius of King Harry Park, although some have moved out of London looking for more space. The feedback we’ve received has been really positive: we’ve been delighted by what people are saying. Lots of visitors are surprised by just how much green space there is around and within the development.

“Others have expressed their gratitude that there are new build homes now available in St Albans. One of our new clients, who is moving out of the capital said that whereas it currently takes him 40 to get to work travelling from one part of London to another, his St Albans commute is just 22 minutes on the train and 15 minutes walk. Another client told me that they wanted to move to King Harry Park because they’d be even closer to some of St Albans’ best schools.”

During the four days of the official launch, 353 prospective buyers came to look around King Harry Park. And before it was even opened to the public, the neighbours were invited to see the work that has been done on site, and during the visit they had an opportunity to raise any questions they had about the development with the Linden Homes team.

Simon Pendlebury says it was a very satisfactory event: “We arranged for the local residents to visit so they could see for themselves what the development is all about and they were able to talk to us face to face about the development. Several of them told us they thought we’d done a really good job and thanked us for letting them have a preview. I think everyone found that it was a very worthwhile and informative experience.”
