Housebuilder Linden Homes West Yorkshire has further boosted Macmillan Cancer Support funds by over £35,000, following another exciting and successful year of fundraising.
The company used 2019 to once again raise money for its chosen charity through a range of events; including a charity ball as well as a number of team and individual head office and on-site activities supported by generous staff, contractors, friends and family.
The amazing total will be added to funds already raised by the Leeds-based developer over the past two years, which is in excess of £56,000.
According to figures from Macmillan Cancer Support (2019) – this is almost enough to pay for a Macmillan nurse for a year.
Adele Burrough, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support visited the company’s Leeds head office for the cheque presentation.
She said: “It was a pleasure to meet members of the Linden Homes West Yorkshire team who have raised such an impressive amount for the charity.”
“This partnership has gone from strength to strength with all staff at Linden Homes raising the bar and supporting in any way they can. Without the support of businesses like Linden Homes we would not be able to be there when people need us the most, whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.”
The ongoing support for the charity has seen many people across the business get involved with fundraising events ranging from the glamourous to the imaginative.
Scott Stothard, Managing Director for Linden Homes West Yorkshire, now part of the Vistry Homes Group, said: “We’ve had another wonderful 12 months of fundraising, not least a truly fantastic evening in the summer with our Charity Ball.
“This amazing amount of money is a continuation of our already fantastic fundraising - everyone has thrown themselves into raising as much money as possible.”
