Local Charities Kick Off New Year With Linden Homes
05 Apr 2013

Two local community groups in Bath are benefitting from a welcome boost of funds, further to a competition run by the award-winning housebuilder, Linden Homes.

Daniel Tanner, 22 of Twerton, Bath selected Bath City Community Foundation and Bath City Youth as the worthy beneficiaries of £1,000 prize money, which he won after entering a national competition with the housebuilder.

Daniel was selected after donating an impressive 300 football shirts to the Linden Homes as part of the ‘Kit Up Kit Out’ competition, which was run in partnership with the Kits4Causes appeal, to support disadvantaged youngsters in the UK and around the world.

The competition urged the public to deliver unwanted kits to dedicated drop-off points at Linden Homes’ developments across the country from Cornwall in the south-west to Northumberland in the north east.

Daniel won the overall competition, winning £1,000 in funds to be donated to a community sports initiative of his choice. He was delighted to win the competition and nominate the two causes as the preferred local projects. He said: “I was delighted to win the Linden Homes competition and be able to make a donation towards two causes very close to my heart. It’s great to see such reputable causes in the area see the benefit and I am sure the monies will be put to excellent use!”

Clive Wiltshire, Managing Director of Linden Homes Western, said: “It was fantastic to meet Daniel and the representatives from these great local causes in Bath to see where the funds from our competition are being spent. The kits that Daniel donated have already been put to good use by the Kits4Causes appeal, but it’s super that the money is being put to such good use by these local causes.

“As a leading national housebuilder we recognise that our responsibility goes beyond delivering quality homes, and this is a great example of where we can help in a more diverse way in the valued local community.”

Linden Homes was overwhelmed by the response to the competition which saw in excess of 500 kits donated across the nation. This project was delivered as part of the ‘Linden Homes Foundation’, a nationwide initiative designed to unite the business, in supporting and driving engagement within, and on behalf of, the communities it operates.
