Linden Homes Donates New Sports Equipment To Local Primary School
25 Nov 2020

Linden Homes (part of Vistry Partnerships) has donated £1000 to St Luke’s Primary and Nursery, a school local to their Brunel Street Works development, in thriving Canning Town. The donation will support the school’s PE department, enabling the purchase of new outdoor sports equipment for the 172 pupils.

Whilst space can be limited in schools with premium London postcodes, outdoor sport and activity for the pupils at St Luke’s are a priority. The school recognises that, in addition to promoting fitness and physical skills, the children will also benefit from a host of other important skills and lessons, teamwork, self-discipline and mental strength. The donation from Linden Homes will enable St Luke’s to upgrade its goals and nets for its budding young football team and will provide for a range of other outdoor equipment that will benefit all the students.

Dean Scott, a Senior Assessment Leader at St Luke’s, is keen to build on the school’s recent sporting success: “Our students have won two football leagues and a tournament in Newham Competitions in the past couple of academic years. The new football equipment will further motivate the teams; hopefully enabling them to continue on their winning streak!

“Whilst so many of our children thrive at PE, we want all the children to enjoy some form of outdoor activity, which is why we also encourage outdoor sport and play during their free time. The more we can offer in this regard, the greater the chances are of all children finding enjoyment from the benefits of physical activity. We are very grateful to Linden Homes for partnering with us in promoting this important goal of St Luke’s.”

Jai Gill, Associate Sales Director at Vistry Partnerships said: “We are delighted to be able to provide St Luke’s with a fund for outdoor equipment for the children. Supporting the communities which are home to our housing projects is very important to us. Each housing development is a long-term investment into that community which we want to see thrive. We hope that the new outdoor sporting and play equipment will provide many hours of enjoyment to the youngsters at St Luke’s.”

Brunel Street Works is entering its third phase of exciting development. The new one, two and three bed homes will be available in the new year, in advance of which, the latest show home will be opening its doors in December. Not just a housing development, Brunel Street Works also offers onsite retail, workspace, and indoor and outdoor community space. The Marketing Suite is open by appointment only should you wish to further explore what Brunel Street Works has to offer. For more information about the development, please call 02035 530 585.
