Linden Homes Appoints New Group Managing Director
16 May 2013

Linden Homes has appointed Andrew Richards as the Group managing director for housebuilding, taking effect from 1 July 2013.

Previously managing director for the Investment Division, at Linden Homes’ parent company, Galliford Try, Andrew was responsible for activities in Renewables and Public Private Partnerships (PPP’s).

After an extensive search internally and externally for the position, Andrew was selected for his strong financial background and track record of delivering exceptional financial and operational results in a fiercely competitive market.

Supported by the experienced operational and executive management team at Linden Homes, Andrew will oversee the housebuilder’s entire business operations across the UK.

Greg Fitzgerald, Galliford Try chief executive, said: “It’s a pleasure to introduce Andrew as the new managing director of our housebuilding division. His financial discipline and commercial acumen will undoubtedly bring a fresh approach to the company and leadership team. Having worked for the Galliford Try Group for over seven years, Andrew has solid understanding of the company, which will set him in good stead for taking the business forward.”

As well as having the support from the existing management team, Andrew will also be guided by previous Group managing director, Ian Baker throughout the transition, up until November 2013, when he steps down from the business.

Andrew commented on his new appointment: “I am delighted to join the team at Linden Homes. With my financial background and focus on strategic analysis, I am confident that I will bring a new dimension to the already strong management team. I intend to continue to drive our focus towards margin improvement and positively challenge the existing policies in place.”

Linden Homes has doubled in size since 2009 and its success has come through rebranding, providing confidence to landowners, delivery industry leading customer service and offering attractive financial enablers for first-time and experienced customers, such as NewBuy and the recently announced government-backed ‘Help to Buy’ scheme.
