Langham: a charming village with a strong community spirit and excellent travel links for both work and recreation

Langham is located in the beautiful area of countryside known as Constable Country named so because landscape painter John Constable was inspired to paint from many spots in the area. Our new homes for sale in Essex offer an attractive village lifestyle with a range of community-led initiatives, annual events, activities, and clubs run by volunteers. The community-run village shop stocks a range of essentials and offers further convenient services such as a mobile post office, recycling point, and a dry cleaning service. With a variety of well-regarded schools in the local area, as well as fantastic transport links, Langham is the perfect place to find your dream family home.

What’s close to Langham?

The diversity in the cities, towns, and villages in Essex means there is lots on offer. The village of Dedham is just under 3 miles away from Langham by car and its colourful wooden-beamed houses lining the High Street make for a pleasant trip. Just 6 miles along the A12 is Colchester, Britain’s first city. Steeped in history, it was the former capital of Roman Britain and has much to explore. The town centre is peppered with museums and galleries such as the Colchester Castle Museum, beautifully showcasing 2,500 years of archaeological history, and the spectacular golden building that is Firstsite, a contemporary visual arts organisation home to exciting contemporary art. There’s no shortage of options for some retail therapy with a blend of specialist independent retailers and large department stores, and regular market days.
