Skydive Press Release

Sky's the limit for Rotarian Tony Davis as he prepares for his daredevil skydive challenge thanks to a generous donation from a local firm of developers.

Linden Homes South West, which is based in Newton Abbot and is part of the Galliford Try Group, answered Tony’s plea for £400 to participate in a mass skydive organised by his Rotary Club of Babbacombe and St Marychurch in Torquay.

Tony said: “To commemorate the 50th year of our Rotary club, we have organised a daredevil stunt to raise thousands of pounds for the national and local MS Society. I was overjoyed to receive a donation from Linden Homes which now means I can take part in this amazing event. Although I must admit, this will represent a huge personal challenge for myself.”

Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, said: “We are delighted to support Tony’s brave 15,000ft skydive, raising awareness and much needed funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

“It is a worthwhile charity that does fantastic work offering care, guidance and support to thousands of people who have been diagnosed with the condition.

“We are incredibly proud to be involved in this great event.”

The Rotary Challenge 50 Skydive will take place on Sunday, August 10 and members of the Rotary Club of Babbacombe and St Marychurch are calling for 50 volunteers to skydive 15,000 ft on the same day to support both the local and national MS Society. The challenge is open to all ages from 16 years and upwards – so the sky really is the limit! Anyone who is interested in participating and would like to know more information on how to register for the Rotary Challenge 50 Skydive or support this appeal, can contact Kathy Uglow on 07887 652811 or visit www.rotaryevent.co.uk.
