In true Christmas spirit Linden Homes Thames Valley has donated an array of gifts to the children’s ward at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital. Kind-hearted members of the public responded generously to Linden Homes’ Christmas Appeal for gifts to donate to the children’s ward after calling out to the local community to come forward with presents. The housebuilder delivered the goodies to the hospital earlier this week.
Linden Homes ran the appeal to help put a smile on the faces of the young patients unable to go home from hospital on Christmas Day, and their families, with some festive excitement. The selection of new toys and games will be given out to the children on Christmas Day to spread some cheer around the ward.
Trevor Wicks, Managing Director for Linden Homes Thames Valley, commented: “We thank everyone who generously donated a gift for Linden Homes’ appeal. Christmas should be an exciting time for children and families so we wanted to ensure that children who will be spending this Christmas Day in hospital enjoy a bit of extra Christmas sparkle. I’m sure the gifts will help to put smiles on their faces at what must otherwise be a difficult time for them and their families.”
Basingstoke Hospital was delighted to receive the gifts for the children, of all ages. Whilst it is a priority that the children’s ward delivers the best possible care, it is important that the ward also provides appropriate fun and entertainment in what can otherwise be a very emotional and stressful time.
