Plotting The Future With A New Build Home
17 Dec 2013

A year and a half ago, Paula Pole and her family dropped in on King Harry Park when they were looking for a larger St Albans home to move into. But instead of finding a complete home, they ended up reserving a plot of land earmarked to become a spacious four bedroom semi detached home.

Paula says that before their visit, she had driven past the King Harry Park development several times and had seen the advertising hoardings. After looking it up online, she decided to visit the Linden Homes’ sales and marketing suite on site:

“I was interested straight away – we already lived in St Albans, but needed more space for my husband Simon and myself and our two daughters, Alicia and Sophia who are 11 and 8: we also have a Spanish au pair who lives with us.

“We love St Albans – it is such a beautiful, historic city. Everything is so close and it is just twenty minutes by train from central London, so we didn’t want to move away. When we saw King Harry Park, we knew it was the right place for us, so a couple of months after our initial visit, we reserved a plot.”

Buying off plan from Linden Homes brings with it several advantages, as Paula discovered: You can pick the plot where you want to live and even have some input into the finish of the home. Another advantage is that you can see the home being built:

“It was very interesting to see our house in the various stages of the build. I remember going to see, initially the foundations, and then later the roof being put on. And because we were involved in the process so early, we were able to choose the kitchen and bathrooms we wanted, the tiles, flooring and carpets. We also asked to have a special instant hot water tap fitted in the kitchen too.”

The Pole family moved in to their new completed home in the summer, following a holiday in Turkey:

“We flew back from Turkey on the same day that we moved in. We are really pleased with our house – the finish is of a very high standard and any snagging, which you always get with a new home, was dealt with immediately by Linden Homes.

“We’ve settled in very quickly at King Harry Park. We have found it really convenient and very safe too for the children: The homes are right next to Verulamium Park and you can walk safely into the town centre on the footpath and the girls have an attractive walk to their school across the park. Every now and then the sales and marketing suite holds an event such as an evening with a jazz band, or a hog roast and we are all invited along with all the other new residents. It’s a very friendly place.”

King Harry Park, which is a collection of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes, currently has a new range of four and five bedroom homes available.

For more information please call the sales and marketing suite on site on 0844 417 8104. The suite is open every day from 10am to 5pm.
