Part Exchange Families Enjoy The Best Of Both Worlds In Northamptonshire
08 May 2013

TWO young families are the latest Linden Homes residents to enjoy the best of both worlds at their new homes in Northamptonshire - thanks to a smooth move through part exchange.

Simon and Laura Bottomley, together with their young children, are among those reaping the benefits offered at the Roman View development in the village of Greens Norton.

The location, boasting open spaces, countryside views and a community atmosphere, allows them to enjoy a town and country balance.

Commuting IT consultant Simon (39) and Laura – who has recently returned to work in Milton Keynes following maternity leave – are enjoying their four-bedroom home with children Charlie (5) and year-old Mia.

The family moved from Milton Keynes, just 14 miles away, as part of their search for more tranquil, green and family-friendly surroundings.

Laura (32), who continues to work in Milton Keynes, said: “The house we were living in before was relatively new, but the development was built up and lacked in open spaces. We had to travel everywhere, even to the nearest shop, by car and we both wanted a location more suited to bringing up our children.”

A visit to the Rightmove website directed them to Linden Homes and Greens Norton, where Laura admits to have been pleasantly surprised by how much open space and countryside surrounded the new homes development.

She added: “Roman View and Greens Norton are wonderful for us as a family. The area is safe for the children and convenient for Simon and I as a commutable location. We can take advantage of the great road and rail links during the week and benefit from a quieter side of life at the weekend. The local school is also perfect for Charlie.”

The couple purchased their new home through part exchange, and moved within four weeks of putting their existing home on the market.

And it was a move that was almost mirrored by the Murrell family - Matt (33), Kate (34) and their young daughters.

Government officer Matt said: “We were initially attracted to the development by the fact that it is in a village location but still within reasonable commuting distance for the both of us. I work in Northampton and Kate commutes to Coventry,

“The spacious feel of the property, coupled with the rural location and views over open countryside, means it is ideal for us and our children, four-year-old Alice and 10-month-old Holly.

“The local primary school and very convenient nursery combined with a diverse village with good local amenities helped us to make up our minds.

“The opportunity to go for country walks without having to take a drive out to get there is also a huge benefit.”

Matt added: “We had been living in Northampton for the past 10 years. Our main reason for moving was to have more space for our growing family. We had considered moving within Northampton itself but decided that now was as good a time as any to move to a location where we would be happy settling down in for the long term.

“Under part exchange, Linden Homes helped arrange a valuations for our old property within a matter of days. The offer we received was very reasonable and the part exchange process was very straightforward. From the date of putting down a deposit to secure our new home to the date of completion was little more than five weeks.”

Here’s how the part exchange scheme works:

  • Linden Homes will arrange for at least two independent valuations of your existing home and will make you an offer based on their suggestions.
  • Once you agree the offer, and subject to satisfactory surveys, Linden Homes becomes your buyer, freeing you up to put in reservation on your new home.
  • After that, it's a case of setting a moving-in date, boxing up your things, and basking in the relief of a quick chain-free move to the home of your dreams.
  • You can stay in your existing home until your new one is ready.

Roman View is an idyllic development boasting a mixture of brick and stone built homes in a variety of styles to a suit a range of lifestyles and budgets.

Set in a pretty, private cul-de-sac, some of the one, two, three and four-bedroom homes enjoy panoramic rural views of the stunning Northamptonshire countryside.

Northampton, with its bustling business parks and large employers, is just 11 miles from the tranquil Greens Norton – and Milton Keynes a short distance of 14 miles – both presenting a perfect commutable option.

The Roman View sales and marketing suite and stunning show homes are open from Thursday to Monday from 10.30am - 5pm. Alternatively, call the sales team on 01327 358819.
