MP Anne Main Takes A Tour Of King Harry Park
11 Sep 2012

The MP for St Albans, Anne Main, has taken time to visit Linden Homes’ King Harry Park development.

Looking around the collection of new homes, accompanied by the managing director of Linden Homes Chiltern Darren Maddox and his team, Mrs Main said she was impressed with both the quality and the layout of the housing.

During the tour at the end of last month (22nd August) Mrs Main said Linden Homes had clearly made a big effort to ensure that King Harry Park fitted in with the surrounding area:

“It’s good to see that the homes have been designed in a sympathetic manner. It is important that developers aim for high standards in site design, build quality, green spaces and planting, especially in situations where local residents had concerns about how the site is going to work in the local community.”

During the tour of the site, Darren showed the St Albans MP around the Linden Homes marketing suite and the show homes – and described the different new housing types that are available to those who want to move to the area.

King Harry Park is a varied collection of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes situated on King Harry Lane and is a short walk from the picturesque 100 acre Verulamium Park and about a mile from the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Albans – the oldest site of continuous Christian worship in Britain.

St Albans, as Hertfordshire’s oldest town has a long and varied history: It’s been occupied for 2,000 years and by the first century, under the name of Verulamium, it was one of the largest towns in Roman Britain.

St Albans certainly has ancient roots, and at King Harry Park life does tend to be quiet and peaceful. But elsewhere St Albans has all the attractions of the modern, thriving city: A host to arts festivals and major rock and pop concerts, it also boasts renowned theatres, award winning museums and an enviable selection of bars and restaurants.

With its lively atmosphere and commuter links to London St Albans regularly entices London dwellers to move away from the capital and settle here instead.
