Award-winning housebuilder Linden Homes welcomed Torbay Mayor, Gordon Oliver to its prestigious new Southsands development on Torbay seafront this week.
The Mayor was given a tour of the newly opened showhome, where Linden Homes is creating 11 striking three and four bedroom homes. The transformation of a former hotel site into stunning new homes is part of several improvements planned along the seafront.
“I was delighted to receive an invitation from Linden Homes to view the newly opened Southsands development and welcome the investment Linden Homes have made in this prestige location. This is a stunning development which is close to the seafront and the beautiful village of Cockington. I have been impressed by the design of the high-tech dwellings which represent the very best of modern planning.”
Mayor Oliver was given a tour of the newly opened showhome by Annie Ellis, Sales Manager and Sales Executive, Karen Meanwell. He later discussed a number of local issues with Nigel Palmer, Linden Homes Managing Director - including the regeneration of Palm Court, The Pavilion and the positive impact of new opportunities in the bay.
“We are delighted that the Mayor took time out of his busy schedule to come and visit Southsands to see first-hand the work Linden Homes is doing in providing quality new homes that the local community can benefit from.” Nigel Palmer said. “The Mayor was particularly complimentary of the quality of the homes, which would add to injecting a new vitality to Torquay’s seafront. This project is not only creating a number of jobs for local construction workers and apprentices, but is also providing a range of mortgage help and part exchange schemes to assist people to move in an area where demand remains high.”
