Location Is Key To Giving The Best Of Both Worlds To Part Exchange Couple
11 Jul 2013

WHEN young professionals Alice and Steven Chalmers planned to relocate to Cambridgeshire – selling their existing home 350 miles away became a stumbling block.

However, that was before Linden Homes stepped in to assist the couple in not only selling their two-bedroom property in Glasgow, but offering them their dream home in St Ives – spacious and close to work.

Development assistant Alice (26) and estimator Steven (31) used the popular part exchange scheme to ensure their house buying process went smoothly – and are now settling into their stunning three-bedroom home at the Yes development.

Steven explained: “We were living on the outskirts of Glasgow in a two bedroom semi-detached house. We relocated to Cambridgeshire for work, and were looking for a three-bedroom property in the St Ives area. After searching the Internet, Linden Homes fitted the bill.”

Alice added: “We would not have been able to move to our new home at this time without the part exchange scheme, as our property in Glasgow wasn't selling. By using the part exchange scheme we were able to purchase the house we wanted.”

Here’s how part exchange works:

Linden Homes will arrange for at least two independent valuations of your existing home and will make you an offer based on their suggestions.

Once you agree the offer, and subject to satisfactory surveys, Linden Homes becomes your buyer, freeing you up to put in reservation on your new home. After that, it's a case of setting a moving-in date, boxing up your things, and basking in the relief of a quick chain-free move to the home of your dreams. You can stay in your existing home until your new one is ready.

The couple are delighted with their new home, complete with garage, well-proportioned rooms and feeling of space – and would be happy to recommend the developer to a friend.

Steven said: “Linden Homes have been very flexible in agreeing to part exchange our old home in Glasgow and the whole team has been fantastic. We are delighted with the quality and finish of the home. We have a generously sized plot looking out over meadows. The Yes! development could not be better positioned for a relaxing stroll into town.”

The Yes sales and marketing suite is open from Thursday to Monday from 10.30am until 5pm – alternatively call the sales team on 01480 463954.
