Linden South West's Bob Mitchell Wins An NHBC Award
06 Aug 2012

Site Manager, Bob Mitchell of Linden South West has won NHBC Pride in the Job Award thanks to his work on the Rowes Meadow development in Devon.

Rowes Meadow is located on the edge of a quintessential English village of Stoke Gabriel and features a wide range of 43 new two to six-bedroom homes set in a wooded valley. The project is due to be completed in early 2013.

With 31 different designs on the site, construction has had little room for repetition.  As well as using materials unique to the village, buyers options for bespoke internal finishes on the development has made each house truly unique.

Pride in the Job winners always have one thing in common - meticulous and consistent attention to detail. To win, they must score highly for the quality of workmanship on their site at every stage of the build. They must also demonstrate excellent leadership, technical expertise and robust health and safety processes.

Bob, having already achieved a string of building accolades on other developments for design and building control during his 16 year career with Linden, is appreciated for these skills by his team.

Assistant Site Manager, Jamie Rogerson said:

“Bob is known for taking a lot of pride in every step he takes. He’s constantly thinking about details that we could add to properties which would make that home a little bit more comfortable and individual to residents needs.”

Linden Homes is Galliford Try’s award-winning house building division and is the sixth largest residential developer in the UK, specialising in high quality, individually designed schemes across the country.

Named as this year’s Housebuilder of the Year by Building Magazine, the developer was commended for having an “incredibly focused team” and an individual design, approach to sustainability and outstanding customer service.

Site managers have overall responsibility for the construction of new houses, therefore as a result of the award the Rowes Meadow site should include some of the best new homes in the UK.

Winners of the next stage of the awards will be announced at ceremonies in the autumn, with successful individuals then progressing to the grand final in London in January. There winners will hope to be named as one of the best house-building site managers in the UK.
