Linden Homes Southern's New Triumvirate
15 Apr 2014

Linden Homes has appointed a strong new team of three to help run the Totton based southern arm of the award winning housebuilders.

The new triumvirate consists of managing director, Brendon O’Neill, commercial director Jeff Hake and technical director Lance Else.

For new managing director Brendon O’Neill it is a return home. He is originally from Fordingbridge on the edge of the New Forest and has come back to the region from the capital where he was managing director of Barratt Homes North London.

Before that Brendon was southern division chairman of firstly Persimmon Homes and then Bloor Homes. He says his chief ambition is to drive standards at Linden Home even further up:

“I think our main challenges are launching the imminent sites this spring while at the same time pushing through fresh planning opportunities in the region. Linden Homes is a great company with a great product and an important part of my plan is to really focus on customer service – it has such a major role when a customer is investing in a new home: It is so important to get that right.

“I also have ambitions to drive new talent into the house building industry. To that end I will be championing apprenticeships in the business. My contacts in this area shall prove valuable in my new position. With the new team in place, I think we have all the ingredients to build on what is already an extremely successful housebuilding business.”

New commercial director Jeff Hake joins Linden Homes Southern to take on the responsibility of surveying, estimating and procurement. Jeff brings a great deal of expertise, having previously worked with start-up companies, through to large scale housebuilders delivering everything from bespoke, high-end homes through to high rise apartments. Jeff says his past experience as board director has prepared him well for this new role:

“Having worked in the commercial departments of a range of different building companies, including Mowlem Homes, St George, Berkeley and Bellway, I have a very good understanding of the commercial, technical and construction aspects of the lifecycle of the build which should stand me in very good stead at Linden Homes Southern.”

New technical director Lance Else started his career within architectural consultancy before moving to Barratt Homes Southampton/Barratt David Wilson Southampton working in management and director roles over a period in excess of six years. From there Lance moved to Crest Nicholson where he was technical executive in a division with a national remit where he built the technical department from scratch. Lance says he is very much looking forward to his next challenge:

“My previous regional and national experience should give me the strong background and knowledge that I will need to support Linden Homes Southern in the coming months, under Brendon’s direction.”
