...Major Silvertown Way Regeneration Project

Top five housebuilder Linden Homes is one of two Galliford Try Group companies to announce that it has signed a development agreement with the Greater Local Authority (GLA) to secure planning and construct the Silvertown Way development in Canning Town, East London.

The prestigious development will be delivered through an existing joint venture vehicle with Thames Valley Housing Association, which will create more than 1,100 mixed tenure homes across a series of individual blocks designed by awarding-winning architects John Thompson & Partners. With an approximate gross development value of £380 million, this makes it the largest standalone housing scheme that the company has undertaken.

The project will be delivered through an existing joint venture vehicle with Thames Valley Housing Association. A third of the homes will be for private market rent, through Thames Valley’s subsidiary Fizzy Living, while around 380 affordable homes will also be constructed for London and Quadrant Housing Association.

Linden Homes and Galliford Try Partnerships will undertake the development which, alongside the new homes, is also proposed to include a hotel, restaurant, commercial space and in turn, employment.

Linden Homes Group Managing Director, Andrew Richards echoed the comments of Galliford Try’s Executive Chairman, Greg Fitzgerald saying: “We are delighted to have been able to work with all the stakeholders involved in this project to reach an agreement commence the task of securing planning consent and deliver much needed new homes for London. As well as being a hugely significant project for our company, Silvertown Way will be a flagship regeneration project for East London, and we are committed to providing high-quality housing of all tenures for the local community.”

Linden Homes is an award-winning housebuilder recognised for its many efforts to build more energy efficient homes, deliver sustainable developments and commitment to cut carbon and reduce waste to landfill, ensuring it leaves a positive impact in the regeneration of this local area.
