Linden Homes Gives House Hunters A Boost To Buy In Thaxted
23 Jan 2017

First time buyers in Essex are among those set to benefit from the launch of Linden Homes’ luxury development in Thaxted, thanks to the government-led Help to Buy scheme.

With Linden Homes’ Help to Buy Barometer revealing that the average amount of homes bought under the government scheme has risen to 41%, Meadow Gardens is affordable for first time buyers as well as families, commuters and upsizers. The houses will be sold via the award winning property consultancy, Bidwells.

Launching on 19th January, the development consists of 47 two, three, four and five bedroom homes that combine modern luxury and country living. 28 properties are available via Help to Buy for under £600,000.

Designed to complement Thaxted’s medieval village aesthetic, with its famous Guildhall and restored Windmill, the Meadow Gardens homes are a mix of traditional architecture with modern, high specification aspects.

While the town is picturesque and rural, occupiers can easily reach London from Elsenham station, which provides direct trains to London Liverpool Street with a journey time of under an hour. Stansted Airport is also just over six and a half miles away.

Closer to home, Thaxted is a hub for commerce, offering a range of shops, restaurants, pubs and businesses, including a market with fresh local produce every Friday.

The show home is due to open its doors shortly after the launch weekend.

Roseanne Bullen, regional sales and marketing manager at Linden Homes Eastern, commented: “70% of Linden Homes customers who used Help to Buy between July – September 2016 were first time buyers, so increasingly our developments are designed with that demographic in mind.

“Extremely well-connected, Meadow Gardens meets the needs of young professionals as well as large families. Properties are ideal for occupiers looking to escape to a relaxed, peaceful environment at the end of a hectic day’s work in the city, but still with all the necessities within walking distance.”

Already in high demand, the Meadow Gardens houses can also be bought via Linden Homes’ Assisted Move or Part Exchange schemes.

Assisted Move is a Linden Homes initiative which offers buyers practical assistance when moving into their new home. As part of the initiative, Linden Homes promises to:
• Deal with the estate agents and pay all their fees, including arranging independent valuations
• Helps buyers get the best price for their old home
• Help appoint a solicitor and mortgage broker if required

For an even more hassle free move, buyers can also take advantage of Linden Homes Part Exchange scheme:
• Buyers choose their new home (current home must not be more than 70% of the value of the chosen home)
• Linden Homes instructs estate agents, agrees a value for the existing home and makes an offer
• If the buyer accepts, Linden Homes will market the current house, leaving the buyer free to move in when it’s ready

Linden Homes’ next Help to Buy Barometer is due to be issued in February.
