Children will be delighted with the latest construction milestone reached at Froyle Park where the new play area has been finished.
It is just one part of the gentle landscaping nearing completion at the development by award-winning housebuilder Linden Homes, which includes a village green, with a beautiful tulip tree at the centre, as well as traditional street furniture.
Construction at the former Treloar College campus in Upper Froyle is well on its way to delivering the collection of high quality properties, comprising new-build homes and the refurbishment of Burnham House into townhouses and apartments.
Work on Burnham House and its 17 stylish residences is progressing well, and the right weather is being awaited to begin installation of the communal garden in the central courtyard.
Of the new-build properties, just four prestigious detached houses are left to be completed in the building phase, with the rest either complete or undergoing decoration. Each exhibits traditional Hampshire brick and tile to blend into the Froyle Conservation Area.
The development is expected to be finished by the autumn but already 25 have been sold and 23 are occupied by the community’s newest residents. Another 30 are still on the market waiting to be snapped up.
One of those new residents is semi-retired Polly Hughes, who moved with her cat, Louis, from nearby Crondall to her new three-bedroom house at Froyle Park.
“I know the area very well,” said Polly, “so I just didn’t want to leave. There’s everything here: Upper Froyle is slap bang in the middle of two very nice market towns – Farnham on one side and Alton on the other.”
The same community spirit she enjoyed in Crondall – and still joins in with by volunteering for a neighbour support group there – is alive and well in Upper Froyle, where she and her other new neighbours were invited by villagers to a Christmas social evening.
Linden Homes South is committed to minimising inconvenience to neighbours, and the development is registered under the Considerate Constructors’ Scheme, a national initiative aimed at building up the industry’s reputation.
Construction director at Linden Homes South, Mark Alp, explained: “We’re nearing the end of the big-scale construction phase, but I’d like to reassure local residents that that doesn’t mean we’ll take our eye off the ball with respect to minimising inconvenience. It’s still our priority.”
