Linden Homes has acquired a piece of land on which it plans to build 87 new homes near Alfreton.
The national housebuilder has submitted a planning application to develop the site off High Street in Riddings.
Proposals for the development in Riddings include 46 homes to be sold privately by Linden Homes, while a further 41 homes will be made available as affordable housing, both affordable rent and shared ownership properties.
The development, which is set to be one of the first in Linden Homes’ new East Midlands region, will comprise a mix of two and three-bedroom homes.
Linda Huntington, Head of Sales for Linden Homes East Midlands, said:
“We have worked closely with planning officers to design a high quality scheme which complements its surroundings and we are pleased to have acquired the land for the proposed development.
“We have selected this site due to its excellent location in the heart of Riddings, near local schools, shops and green spaces, and good transport links via the A38 and M1.
“The development will deliver much-needed new housing for Alfreton and will include a variety of homes to meet the demand from a wide range of buyers looking to get on or move up the property ladder.
“Our planning application is currently with Amber Valley Borough Council, and subject to approval, we hope to start construction work on the development later this year.”
Each of the 46 homes being sold on the open market will benefit from two parking spaces per household.
Linden Homes is also proposing a new landscaping scheme throughout its development, including tree planting and landscaped areas spread across the site.
