For first-time property investor 23-year-old Tia Erskine, the challenge of finding a home to rent out had almost become worthy of seeking help from TV estate agents Kirsty and Phil from ‘Location, Location, Location’.
She had hunted high and low for something that would fit her situation and give her the chance to join in the lucrative rental market, but nothing emerged – until she considered Linden Homes’ new development of stunning houses and apartments at Connect, in Haywards Heath, Sussex.
“Everything I found before in terms of price and work that needed to be done at older properties – well, nothing added up in terms of figures,” she explained. “I live in Hampton Court, and I wanted to lease a place not too far from Surbiton and Kingston.”
But that was before she checked out the exceptional value on offer from the high quality homes just over 10 minutes’ walk from Hayward Heath’s centre and station, and a little less from the picturesque village of Lindfield.
“Here, I calculated the figures and it worked out really well. It’s fully fitted, the quality is high and everything you need is there, such as a dish washer and fully fitted wardrobe, for example,” she said.
“I’ll be renting it out and for that I really like the layout and it is ideal in terms of location. It is a two-bed apartment on the first floor so it will attract young people and older people as well. One other investor in the plot booked in six viewings in a week!”
The purchase is Tia’s second property but the first time she has put her toe in the water of renting. However, she said the process had been simple and she was looking forward to the fun side of kitting out the home – even though this time it would be someone else enjoying the finished result.
“It’s been very easy – extremely easy, actually, and straightforward. I am soon going pick the flooring and wardrobe which I am really looking forward to,” she laughed.
The properties are traditionally built and come in a varied range to suit everyone. Without exception Linden Homes includes carpets, white goods, and incentives over and above those offered anywhere else.
Just 36 miles south of London and 15 miles north of Brighton, Haywards Heath is ideal for commuting. The railway station is a major stopping point on the Brighton mainline and good motorway access makes getting out and about for business (and pleasure) really easy.
But staying closer to home is just as enjoyable as the town boasts shops and restaurants galore to suit a range of tastes, from cosy pubs to trendy bars, and a great selection of high street stores.
And to escape the hustle and bustle of town life is Munster Green, a beautiful conservation area with its ornamental flower beds or Borde Hill Garden, just outside the town, with over 200 acres of superb gardens.
If you prefer to keep active, there’s the Olympos Leisure Centre with its two pools, sports hall, squash courts and gym, while Victoria Park in the town centre has a children’s play area, paddling pool, tennis courts, and Xtreme Action area for BMXing, blading and boarding.
Peter Youll, managing director of Linden Homes Guildford, said: “This development has something for everyone, whether you’re thinking of buying to live there or to rent out – there will be no shortage of keen househunters.
“With Linden Homes’ award-winning attention to detail, quality and customer service, buying a new home has never been so satisfying and straight-forward.”
