Ibstock Brick Works Remembered At Original Factory Site
18 Mar 2016

Linden Homes’ 1779 development in Lightmoor, Telford is pleased to boast about two unique pieces of artwork that pay tribute to the region and its brick work heritage.

The on-going development, on Brick Kiln Bank, now plays host to two very special brick sculptures. These have been hand carved into two separate walls to honour the Ibstock brickwork factory that was once in existence on the land which the development now occupies.

The intricate sculptures, which include a brick cart and a brick workshop, were carved by Bristol artist Rodney Harris and took eight months to undertake.

Commenting, Rodney said: “We were delighted to take part in the project and it was interesting to work from old photographs and develop our own interpretation of artwork which we knew would work well on site.”

Kate Huntington, Marketing and Connections Manager for Linden Homes, said: “We are very proud to now have these two fantastic pieces of artwork on our development.

“The heritage of 1779 is unique and we are pleased that we can pay tribute to it in this way and even better, to be able to use Ibstock bricks to create the art.”

1779 has two, three and four bedroom homes remaining for sale.
