BUILDING on a long-standing sponsorship deal with Oundle Town Cricket Club – Linden Homes recently threw down the sporting gauntlet for a charity match.
Budding cricketers from the Peterborough-based house builder pitted their wits and skill against players from the youth and senior sections of the club – not only to celebrate the launch of a new local village development, but to raise money for a good cause.
The match took place at Oundle, just a stone’s throw from Linden Homes’ fantastic Aspire development at Warmington – where a new show home has just opened its doors.
The evening also marked the start of a series of fundraising events in aid of the Sue Ryder Appeal, launched earlier this year raise £6 million to transform the Thorpe Hall hospice in Peterborough.
Around £300 has already been raised from the cricket match and a recent dress down day at the Peterborough head office.
More events are being planned for the coming weeks, including a charity golf day involved staff and contractors.
