Heading Home To Britain; Settling In Broadstone
06 Mar 2012

Bob and Pauline Beach left Britain eight years ago to start a new life in Australia. For seven years they lived on Queensland’s Gold Coast, the fifth largest city in Australia.

But sadly, because of the very poor exchange rate and the fact that, by law, they had to take out expensive private medical insurance in Australia, living there was no longer a viable option for the Beaches. They reluctantly decided to head home to the UK.

In May last year they moved back to Britain and instead of returning to Solihull where they’d originally come from, they headed south to Eastcliffe in Bournemouth where they rented a home while they searched for something more permanent.

Bob’ sister lives in the Bournemouth area, so the couple were already familiar with this piece of coastline - they also felt that the climate down south would be a little kinder.

Bob says he first spotted Linden Homes’ Indigo Mews when he was looking on the internet:

“After I’d looked at the Linden Homes’ website, we went to visit the Indigo Mews’ apartments last summer. The apartment we liked was being used by Linden Homes as the sales and marketing suite and wouldn’t be available for us to move into until November. We didn’t mind waiting and Linden Homes agreed to replace all the existing carpet, so it all looked fresh and new.”

Bob and Pauline were impressed with Indigo Mews – particularly by its location, which is just a few minutes’ walk to the main high street where there are shops, cafes and banks. The doctors’ surgery is close by and the buses are easy to get to. The apartment itself is different to their last home but Bob says they’ve found it really convenient and have used the kitchen far more than they thought they would.

The couple say they’ve also been impressed by the team at Linden Homes:

“Janet in the sales office has been very good and any problems we’ve had have been dealt with quickly. Linden Homes wanted to continue using our apartment as the sales and marketing suite, so while we rented a temporary home for a few months, we rented our new apartment back to Linden Homes so they could continue to use it for a while. It was an arrangement that suited all of us really well.”

Bob and Pauline moved into their new Indigo Mews home in November and Bob says they’ve been very happy there.
