Graylingwell Park: Cosy, Welcoming With All The Right Ingredients For "A Home For Life"
10 Oct 2013

For Yvonne Keech, moving home was a life-changing opportunity. With the help of Assisted Move, one of Linden Homes’ most popular incentive schemes, Yvonne was able to buy a three-bedroom house at Graylingwell Park, the flagship development in Chichester which has enabled her to relocate closer to her family.

After residing and working for years in Ely, Cambridgeshire with her late husband, Yvonne, 78, decided the time had come to relax and put her feet up, so the retired primary school teacher decided to head south “to spend much more time with my children and grandchildren, who are all local to Chichester”.

Set in 85 acres of beautiful parkland, Graylingwell Park has proved the ideal location for Yvonne and Border Collie, Cleopatra, who loves being taken for long walks! Graylingwell Park is just a mile from Chichester’s town centre and just a short drive to Chichester Harbour – perfect for a drop of sea air.

Graylingwell Park – a joint-partnership with Linden Homes, Affinity Sutton and the Homes & Communities Agency - is the UK’s largest carbon neutral development. It has environmental sustainability and community initiatives at its heart, and offers high quality, energy-efficient homes, with striking architectural design and contemporary interiors. Its eco-friendly design, is enabling Yvonne to save money and reap the many benefits of living in a smaller property with little maintenance.

“I didn’t want to live in a retirement development,” says Yvonne. “I wanted a house which I can easily adapt over the years to suit my needs. I also like the fact it’s part of a bigger community with people of all ages.”  She describes her new house as “a home for life.”

Through community events, parties, clubs and regular news updates, the Chichester Community Development Trust has created a family-friendly atmosphere at Graylingwell Park, which has helped Yvonne to feel welcomed and secure. “There is such a wide range of ages here and you really notice people putting a lot of effort into getting to know their neighbours,” says Yvonne, who is already a devoted member of the Graylingwell Park Gardening Group and recently looked after a tombola stall at a community garden party.

Yvonne is full of praise for Linden Homes’ Assisted Move scheme, which offers many benefits; Linden Homes not only deals with the estate agents, but pays their fees and ensures they get the best price for the buyer’s old home. The scheme allows the buyer to secure their new home, knowing that the estate agents will sell their old property within a pre-agreed timescale.

Nightingales is the latest phase of homes at Graylingwell Park, offering a selection of newly built and converted properties. The Assisted Move scheme and the new government Help-to-Buy scheme are available on selected homes. Please contact Linden Homes on 01243 781494.

There is also a selection of homes available for shared ownership through leading affordable provider Affinity Sutton. With a deposit of as little as £2,332, buyers can purchase a 30% share (£46,650) of a newly-built one-bedroom apartment.
