Good Schools Remain A Priority For Home Buyers - Says New Report (North)
22 Sep 2014

Moving into or living in the catchment area of a good school is becoming more and more important for homebuyers, according to a national report.

So important in fact that a small percentage of parents (10 per cent) are willing to pay more than £50,000 for the privilege, and others an average of £19,000 latest research from a leading price comparison website has revealed.

Some parents will go to extreme lengths to secure a place at what they believe is a top performing school – with 29 per cent admitting that they have moved house specifically to be in the catchment area.

While the schools have only just returned to start the new term, home hunters who are looking to secure a place for next September’s intake – or who are looking to move during the current academic year to be closer to their favoured school – can begin their homework with Linden Homes North.

With developments across East Riding, North and West Yorkshire in areas with excellent educational facilities, more and more parents are putting schooling as a key priority when it comes to their new home wish list.

Linden Homes North sales director Steve Woomble said: “We recognise the huge importance parents place on education and choosing the right school for their child, and this accounts for a high volume of our inquiries – evidence that the positioning of our developments are carefully thought out with our customers’ their families’ needs in mind.”

Linden Homes is building in York, South Milford, Howden, Market Weighton, Thorpe Willoughby, Wrenthorpe, Wilberfoss, Pocklington and Hull.
