For Arched Windows, High Ceilings And Chic Modern Living, Head To Bow
16 Aug 2016

Refurbished apartments, full of character and original period features, rarely come up in London. Of course, when they do appear on the market they tend to be in high demand.

It’s not surprising then that when Linden Homes launched its collection of refurbished apartments at St Clements in Bow, two of them sold on launch day.

The collection of nineteen apartments are in South Court, one of several original Victorian buildings within the St Clements development that have been painstakingly restored and ingeniously re-invented as chic, beautifully finished cosmopolitan apartments.

When it’s completed, St Clements, a former hospital dating back to 1849, will be a characterful mix of old and new properties.

The hospital’s Victorian buildings have been refurbished so that many of the period features and elegant high ceilings remain. At South Court the striking arched windows have been restored and, where necessary, replaced with modern, energy efficient counterparts - so the building’s exterior maintains its Victorian elegance.

The shape of the South Court building - with its unusual angles and levels, has created a great variety of sizes and layouts for the one and two bedroom apartments. Some of the apartments have terraces; others have steps leading down to their own private outside space, bordered with flower beds.

One of the two bedroom apartments offers 1166 square foot of space, a private area outside, a bathroom, a shower room and an additional study/dressing room.

Sharon Eldred is the sales and marketing director for Linden Homes Eastern:

“South Court at St Clements is very special: Our aim has been to blend old and new to create light, airy homes. And while the exterior of this magnificent building - with its signature arched windows - maintains the Victorian grandeur, inside, each apartment is finished to a very high and modern standard. The kitchens and bathrooms are fully fitted, for example the kitchen is finished with tiles, worktops, Symphony kitchen units, oven, hob and fridge/freezer. So they are ready to move into.”

A very significant benefit of living at St Clements is that you are just a three minute walk to Mile End Tube station. Queen Mary University is a walk away and there are many world-class universities within easy reach via the excellent local Tube, DLR or bus links.
