Developer Helps East Yorkshire Key Workers Step Onto The Housing Ladder
05 Feb 2020

With commuters spending an estimated 221 hours each year getting to and from work, according to research, many may struggle with to achieve their ideal work/ life balance.

While regular ‘9-5’ jobs are challenging enough, there are thousands of people around the region who work shifts or unsociable hours in positions within the emergency services, NHS or the education sector; and not always within easy or quick reach of home.

According to the TUC’s latest research, the rail commute in the UK takes an average of two hours and 11 minutes each day. Drivers spend 52 minutes on the road while cyclists spend, on average, 44 minutes in the saddle each day. However, people that can walk to work will generally spend only 29 minutes a day on their commute.

However, developer Linden Homes East Yorkshire (part of Vistry Group) is giving key workers the chance to get onto the property ladder, or relocate, to a new home close to their place of work.

Under the scheme, which is available at many of the developments in East Riding and North East Lincolnshire, eligible key workers can benefit from cost curbing incentives to achieve their dream home – and their ideal work/life balance.
This includes:

  • £2,000 towards your legal fees and removal costs
  • £1,000 towards designer window dressings
  • A flooring package
  • £99 reservation fee

Linden Homes East Yorkshire sales director Steve Woomble said: “Spending several hours behind the wheel or sitting on a train each week simply to get to and from work isn’t much fun, particularly if you live a fair distance from your place of work.

“Our key worker scheme is perfect for not only curbing the cost of moving to a fantastic new home but can help strike a work/life balance for those starting out in the property market or re-located as a result of a new job.

“Many of our developments are close to the numerous universities, colleges and hospitals in and around the East Riding and Lincolnshire areas, as well as the many emergency services outlets.”“Many of our developments are close to the numerous universities, colleges and hospitals in and around the East Riding and Lincolnshire areas, as well as the many emergency services outlets.”
