Customers And Communities - Key Areas For Linden Homes' New Managing Director
31 Jul 2014

Linden Homes Midlands has appointed Mike Coker to the role of managing director.

Mike has a lengthy career in the construction, building and new homes industry - working for a number of nationally recognised companies as well as having run his own building business.

Having come full circle, Mike worked for the original Linden Homes in Surrey at the start of his career, and now re-joins the company (under the Galliford Try umbrella) at a very exciting time for the Midlands region.

He said: “I have joined Linden Midlands at the back end of a very successful year for the region – which has seen the business deliver well beyond it’s budgeted performance.

“The main focus going forward will be to ensure we drive land through the system and make efficient and effective starts on site.

“Health and Safety, the environment and interaction with communities surrounding our developments will all be key factors as we push the business forward.”

Mike lives in the Peterborough area and will be based at the house builder’s regional office in the city.

He joins a determined and focussed team, adding: “There is a strong desire by the staff at Linden Homes to perform at a high level and an equally focussed passion to provide an excellent experience to our customers.”

Acknowledging that the industry still presents its challenges in terms of demand versus supply and the effect on house prices, Mike does recognise the assistance that schemes like Help To Buy to continue to offer many customers.

“I feel that many people still struggle to get a secure foot on the ladder, and there is no doubt that H2B has been a key national catalyst in moving the industry through the recovery process.”

Focussing on exciting times ahead, Mike added: “The industry is a fantastic one within which to work – the diversity in design, product and approach still take my breath away from time to time – exemplar Thames Bank schemes through to small extensions of rural villages all offer something different, and for me are what makes the sector so fascinating.”
