Construction Work At New Sutton Development Reaches The Halfway Mark
30 Nov 2020

More than half of the houses are now built or under construction at a development of 77 homes on the northern edge of Sutton.

Linden Homes is building new homes at its Laithwaite Gardens development off Mepal Road, where building work has reached the halfway milestone.

Part of the newly formed Vistry Group, Linden Homes is building a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties at the development, including 54 for private sale and 23 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.

The homes currently available to buy include new releases of two, three and four-bedroom houses.

Charlotte Barber, Sales Manager for Vistry East Midlands, said: “The homes at Laithwaite Gardens offer a beautiful village setting combined with the convenience of commuter-friendly transport links.

“The development’s location just off the A142 means Lancaster Way Business Park and the centre of Ely are only 15 minutes away by car, while easy access to the A10 offers a simple and direct route to Cambridge.

“Sutton holds a lot of appeal for buyers, particularly those looking to upsize – as well as good transport links, it also has a wide variety of shops and restaurants and it represents good value for money compared to neighbouring Witchford.

“Laithwaite Gardens has proved to be a popular choice for buyers with children, as it’s less than half a mile away from Sutton Church of England Primary School, and we expect that trend to continue.

“We have recently released new homes for sale, in addition to a range of stylish four-bedroom properties in the same house design as our showhome on-site, which are ready to move into now. Buyers can also take advantage of our luxury seasonal offer when moving into their new home at Laithwaite Gardens.”

As construction work at Laithwaite Gardens continues, Linden Homes is planning to build a further 173 homes on a 38-acre site next door to the current development.

Under the plans, which have been submitted to East Cambridgeshire District Council for approval, the new development will include 121 private and 52 affordable homes, as a well as a new village green and playing fields.

If approved, work on site could begin early next year.
