Beat The Stamp Duty Rise: Stamp Duty Paid On Selected Homes In Bedhampton
06 Apr 2016

1st April marked the first day of the new three per cent Stamp Duty rise for anyone buying a home that is not their main residence. Fortunately, for Hampshire property-watchers, buyers purchasing selected homes at Hawthorn Mews in Bedhampton will have their Stamp Duty paid, whether it’s a second home or primary residence.

The development, based in a quiet suburb in Havant off Portsdown Hill Road, features a selection of three, four and five-bedroom family homes and a selection of smaller one and two-bedroom apartments. Located in Bedhampton at the northern end of Langstone Harbour, the homes are well connected and popular with families of all sizes.

Excellent commuter links are available from Bedhampton station, which offers direct trains to Portsmouth and London, and good connections to the cities of Southampton, Bournemouth and Brighton. The A3 is only half a mile away and for those wishing to travel further afield; Southampton Airport is only 22 miles by road with Heathrow just over an hours drive.

Susan Whiting, marketing manager at Linden Homes South said: “Hawthorn Mews has proved very popular with families and young professionals. The friendly local area is a big draw, as is the convenient location.

“We are offering the Stamp Duty incentive for the month of April only so would encourage anyone looking to buy in the area to get in touch and book an appointment soon.”

Hawthorn Mews offers buyers a selection of elegant townhouses including The Montagu, a beautifully design five-bedroom town house, which is eligible for the Stamp Duty incentive when reserved before the 30th April.

Set over three storeys, The Montagu features an open plan kitchen / dining room with full-height French doors that open onto the garden. A generous living room is also situated on the ground floor with ample internal storage, including a utility room and downstairs cloakroom. A large double garage provides off-road parking and plenty of additional storage.

Upstairs, the first-floor features three family bedrooms along with a large bathroom, which includes a separate shower and airing cupboard. The second-floor boasts a master bedroom with dual aspect windows and generous second bedroom, both of which are served by sleek en-suite shower rooms.
