‘Aint No Mountain High Enough For House Builder’s Charity Challenge

A team of bosses and colleagues at Linden Homes East Yorkshire is taking fundraising to new heights – gearing up for next month’s Housebuilder Mountain Marathon.

Managing director Mark Connors will be joined by staff from a number of departments for the annual charity challenge, which involves completing 26 miles over two gruelling days (14/15 September) in the Lake District.

The event is also being supported by colleagues from across Galliford Try, Linden Homes’ parent company, to raise money for the Youth Adventure Trust – along with participants from other major housebuilders.

The Trust works with vulnerable children aged 11-16 to help them make positive choices in life, fulfil their potential and provide experiences they wouldn’t have necessarily had the opportunity to have without the its involvement.

Fundraising by Linden Homes East Yorkshire is well underway; with raffles, bake sales, a sponsored sky dive and a business unit walk of Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District all adding to the growing total – which currently stands at just under £3,000.

And in preparation for the event, the team staged its very own charity Tour De Linden – a static bike cycling challenge at the company’s head office in Doncaster, where staff took turns in pedalling the virtual 172 route, the distance between all its regional sites.

Mark said: “This challenge is something which is out of my comfort zone, but I am trying to lead by example for such a fantastic cause and am delighted with the positive and enthusiastic response from colleagues to join me.”
