A One-Bedroom Apartment In London Or A Four-Bedroom Home At Edge In Essex?

Linden Homes’ award winning development in Harlow – known as Edge – has half a dozen beautiful four bedroom homes remaining on the current release.

This state of the art Essex development features contemporary, cutting edge and award winning architecture. There are several house types still available:

The Butler, a four bedroom semi-detached home, is arranged over two floors: The kitchen/dining/living room is open plan and has French doors that lead to the back garden. The four bedrooms are arranged around a central landing. There is a family bathroom and the master bedroom has an ensuite and a balcony.

The Hirst is a four bedroom detached house with a spacious living room and a study/TV room. The kitchen/dining room is open plan and opens up to the garden via French doors. Like the master bedroom in the Butler, there is an ensuite bathroom and a private balcony.

Fatma Aytemur was living in a rented flat in London when she decided to try and buy her own home. She eventually extended her search beyond the capital: She visited one of Linden Homes’ developments in Essex and was amazed to discover what she could afford there:

“I had a one bedroom flat in mind. That’s what I had been looking for in London. When I got to Essex I thought I’d have a look round the show home. It was a beautiful four-bedroom house.

“After seeing it and discussing the finances with the sales executives on site, everything changed. Instead of the one bedroom apartment I thought I could afford, I ended up buying a lovely, spacious house!”

Not only was Fatma able to get so much more for her money by moving out to Essex, she was also able to use the popular Government led Help to Buy scheme:

“I had read pages and pages about Help to Buy because I’d considered using it right from the beginning. I knew it would help – but I never dreamed I could end up with a home like this! The Help to Buy scheme was very simple to use. Linden Homes helped to put me through to the right people and, with the assistance of the mortgage advisers, I arranged the whole thing.”

“You get so much more for your money, so much more space by moving out of London. When my mother saw the house for the first time she pointed out that my new kitchen alone was bigger than my old flat in London! I think it’s fair to say that moving here has changed my life.”

Sharon Eldred is the sales and marketing director at Linden Homes Eastern:

“People living in London are so used to London property prices that when they shift their home search away from the capital, they can get quite a shock – albeit it a nice shock. Many of our customers who have moved out to Essex say they couldn’t believe what they could get for their money, just half an hour’s train ride from central London. For many people it’s a revelation. My advice would be to come to Edge and have a look at the homes we have available and see for yourself just how much space you can afford.”

The development is well located for commuters with Harlow Mill train station just over a mile away and Harlow Town station just over two miles away. Both stations offer frequent rail services into London Liverpool Street in just over half an hour. The development is a short drive to the M11 and M25 and only a 20-minute drive to Stansted airport.
