Local family, Helen and her three children, recently found their perfect home at Haddon Green by Linden Homes at Vistry’s Great Haddon development, securing a spacious four-bedroom semi-detached house that meets their growing needs. In addition to securing their new home, they had the added bonus of winning two season tickets to The POSH women’s team (Peterborough United Football Club), their local football club after entering a competition at the Vistry sales office prior to their initial viewing appointment for their new home.
Having searched for a while for a home that offered more space, a great location, and a sense of community, Helen visited Great Haddon, and instantly knew it was the perfect place to put down roots.
Helen says, “I had been thinking about moving for a while so the children could have their own bedrooms. One day, we were driving past and I said, ‘Shall we go and have a look at what’s available?’ My son agreed, and we immediately liked what we saw.”
Located close to family, the children’s schools, and Helen’s work, Great Haddon provided everything they were looking for - not just in a home, but in its strong sense of community. Unlike some developments where homes and gardens can feel tightly packed, Great Haddon has been designed with space and nature in mind.
She adds, “I love that the houses and gardens don’t feel cramped together. The development has a really open and spacious feel, which was a big factor in our decision. I wanted a home where the children had their own space but also where we could all come together as a family.”
Beyond the home itself, the family was drawn to Great Haddon’s wider development, which is designed to be a thriving, well-connected community. The site features green spaces, play areas, and walking routes, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities - something that was important for the family.
Helen says, “Having parks and green spaces nearby is a huge bonus for us. The children love being outside, and knowing we’ll have those areas on our doorstep made the decision even easier.”
Great Haddon’s location also means excellent transport links, with easy access to nearby towns and major roads, making commuting and school runs hassle-free. With shops, schools, and leisure facilities planned for the development, it’s set to become a vibrant and self-sufficient neighbourhood.
She adds, “It’s not just about buying a house - it’s about moving to a place where we can build a future. Great Haddon really stood out because of everything it offers, now and in the long term.”
Winning the season tickets to the POSH was an added bonus for the family!
Helen says, “The children spotted the competition form when we arrived at the sales office for our first viewing and told me to fill it in. I did, then completely forgot about it! I was so surprised when I got the call to say we had won - I wasn’t expecting it at all. The kids were absolutely thrilled.”
As local supporters, the family has always followed the team and winning the season tickets to the women’s team means they’ll be able to experience more games together, making memories both at the stadium and in their new home.
Helen says, “Moving to Great Haddon already felt like a win for us as a family, and then we got this amazing bonus! We’re so excited for the future - both in our new home and cheering on the POSH!.”
Vistry Group’s East Anglia region became proud sponsors of Peterborough United Football Club (POSH) in September 204, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the local community and local sporting fixtures. In addition to the sponsorship, Vistry East Anglia ran the season ticket competition for visitors of Great Haddon ensuring the development provides benefits that go beyond the provision of new homes and community facilities.
There is a selection of three- and four-bedroom homes at Great Haddon which Vistry is selling under its Bovis and Linden brands, with select properties available through the shared ownership scheme.
