The developer is building 87 homes on a 2.4 hectare site off High Street, with the first properties due to be completed Spring/Summer next year.
The development, which will be known as The Riddings, will comprise a mixture of two and three-bedroom homes, with 41 of the properties being provided as affordable housing through affordable rent and shared ownership schemes.
Most of the 46 homes being sold on the open market will have access to two parking spaces.
It is the first development to be built by Linden Homes East Midlands in Derbyshire, and the national housebuilder is hoping to release the first homes on to the market in early 2019.
