A national housebuilder will start construction in a Nottinghamshire village next year after being given the go ahead to build a sustainable new part of the community of more than 50 homes.
Linden Homes aims to start work on building the 56 properties in Ruddington, which includes 17 affordable homes, in the coming months after its application was approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council.
The full planning permission follows Linden Homes' former option, signed in 2012 and promoted through Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Local Plan, to allocate the site for residential development and remove it from the green belt.
Hannah Pattinson, strategic land regional director, said: “We are pleased to have attained planning approval for 56 homes in Ruddington. We have promoted this site for release from green belt land towards residential allocation for some time and we feel it’s the perfect place for Linden's modern, light and stylish homes.
“We have a positive working relationship with Rushcliffe Borough Council and we worked with council officers and the relevant statutory stakeholders to finalise a high-quality scheme. We work with local people to create sustainable new developments and Ruddington is the perfect place for that with the village's strong community, museums,steam trains and shops.”
The housebuilder will build one to five-bedroom homes in Ruddington, with house types from the latest Linden collection.
Ruddington, which lies just over five miles south of Nottingham in the borough of Rushcliffe, has a strong sense of identity and is in close proximity to the M1, A1 and East Midlands Airport. Also, Rushcliffe Country Park, which has 85 hectares with wildflower meadows, grassland, and conservation and landscaped areas.
