West Sussex Couple Take Advantage Of Buying Off Plan To Plan For Their Future

When couple, Tim (55) and Annie Lane (52), happened to come across Linden Homes’ Mulberry Fields they had never thought of buying a new build home, let alone off plan. The couple had set their hearts on finding a bungalow so wasted no time in snapping up The Escalonia at the new build development before it was even built.

The Lanes knew what they wanted and so whilst they did not spend long looking for their perfect property, when the couple were introduced to Mulberry Fields, near the picturesque village of North Bersted, and saw the plans for the three-bedroom bungalow they knew their short search was already over.

Annie Lane, who works locally as a cashier, said “We only lived ten miles away from Mulberry Fields and we’ve always lived locally so we knew we were very happy living in the area, we just needed to find our future dream home. I have hyper mobility which is why having no stairs was important. We lived in a lovely four-bedroom house but knew we needed to move to a smaller bungalow.

“When we came across the Mulberry Fields development it hadn’t even been released and as we knew there was a lot of demand, we decided to take the plunge and buy off plan to secure the home. We’d never owned a new build before, but we’ve fallen in love with it especially with the low maintenance.”

Her husband, Tim, who is retired, said: “We really didn’t have to look for a new home for long as we knew exactly what we wanted. When The Escalonia bungalow popped up online it was a no brainer, so we decided to buy it off plan. That was the big leap into the unknown for us, but we enjoyed choosing what we wanted inside and getting a say in how our next
dream home would look. And now we’re in it we have peace of mind for the future in a beautiful development in a part of the world we love.”

Buying off plan can seem a little daunting but there are many benefits to securing a home at the initial stages of the build. Potential purchasers can hand pick a plot to suit them and personalise their new home (dependent on build stage) with a selection of interior options such as flooring and kitchens, enabling them to put their own stamp on a brand-new home right at the beginning. What’s more, purchasers can monitor their new home as it’s built.

Mulberry Fields, a ten-minute drive from Bognor Regis, boasts being located in the sunniest place in England and Tim and Annie have enjoyed taking advantage of that in their beautiful garden. Also surrounded by the stunning West Sussex countryside being close to the South Downs, Tim and Annie are now settled into their new home and enjoying the area, their garden and the views from their property.

Annie added “I’m still working so it’s an easy commute for me and at the end of the day we can enjoy our beautiful surroundings. There have been a few snags, as you’d imagine with any move, but the customer service made the whole process so effortless. Jason who manages the site was extremely helpful, prompt and solved our minor problems so quickly. We’d definitely buy from Linden Homes again and would recommend a Linden home to those looking for a new property.”
