‘Wellies On’ weekend makes a splash in Church Crookham

A ‘Wellies On’ walk was held to showcase the Linden Homes properties which are taking shape at Vistry Group’s Albany Park location in Church Crookham on Saturday (8 October).

Two groups of potential customers were given hard hats and hi-vis jackets for a guided tour of the site to see the new homes under construction.

Large computer-generated images were also set up around the development to help people visualise what the streets will look like once complete.

Vistry is building 300 new homes under both the Linden Homes and Bovis Homes brands at Albany Park, off Watery Lane, with 180 properties for private sale and 120 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership. The development will include a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes across the 82-acre site.

Lisa King, sales manager for Vistry Southern, said: “It was great to welcome customers to Albany Park with our ‘Wellies On’ walk, which was a bit of a novel way to show them the potential of the development at first hand.

“The computer-generated images of the houses we are building gave visitors a visual of how the streets will look when they’re completed, rather than having to rely on their imagination.

“The wide range of homes on offer at Albany Park is attracting a mix of home-hunters, including first-time buyers, growing families and those looking to downsize after retirement. We’re pleased to be able to show customers what this development has to offer and help them to see what living in this stunning location will be like in the future.

“Due to the success of this first event, we have planned a second for the end of November to enable customers and visitors to Albany Park to see the homes which are nearing completion as they become available to step inside for the first time. Those interested in attending this event should register with us in order to do so.”

As well as new housing, Vistry Group is also working to deliver a 40-acre Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG), created as part of Albany Park, which will feature new planting, wildlife habitats, boardwalks and walking paths for new and existing residents to enjoy.

As part of the development, Vistry is providing sports pitches, a pavilion, a multi-use games area and children’s play areas, as well as land for a new GP surgery and a convenience store.

The housebuilder will also make financial contributions to the local area, including £2.7 million towards education, £600,000 for transport and more than £500,000 towards leisure and open spaces, plus £1.3 million towards the future upkeep of the SANG.

There is currently a selection of three, four and five-bedroom new Linden Homes properties available to reserve at Albany Park, with prices starting at £530,000. Some of the homes are available for occupation within the coming months. A sales office and new view homes will be opened at the development in January 2023.
