"We Bought A New Home And Sold Ours - All Within Two Weeks!"
26 Feb 2016

Moving house can be a long and stressful experience, but not for one Plymouth couple who took advantage of Linden Homes’ part exchange scheme.

Kevin Heathorn, a freelance TV producer, lives with Paula, a media manager for the BBC and their cat, Crunchie. They have just bought a new five bedroom townhouse at Linden Homes’ Beechfield Grove development, located in a peaceful residential area between Hartley, Mannamead and Peverell.

Speaking about the move, Kevin said: “We are delighted with our new house and cannot believe how quickly, or how smoothly, everything went – we reserved our new home on 8th December and completed on 21st December.

“We weren’t planning on moving but we looked around Beechfield Grove and fell in love with a townhouse, which reminded us of a modern version of our Georgian three-storey property. Not only is it a beautiful new house but it also has a bigger garden than our last one.

“If it hadn’t been for the part exchange scheme then we definitely wouldn’t have moved. We hadn’t considered selling as there were already three homes in our road for sale, so there was a lot of competition and we did feel a little trapped. Part exchange enabled us to move quickly and save money on the estate agent fees.

“The idea of a brand new home really appealed to us as there’s no leaky roof or any need for modernisation, which gives us lots of time to spend relaxing rather than painting rooms!”

Kevin, who has lived in Plymouth for over 20 years, added: “We’ve had a wonderful experience and Linden Homes took us through the whole part exchange process step-by-step. The recommended solicitors, Bright Solicitors, were also fantastic, especially working to such a tight timescale so close to Christmas.

“I just can’t believe that we bought a new home and sold ours – all within two weeks!”

Brian Deacon, sales and marketing director for Linden Homes, said: “Not only does part exchange alleviate the stress from selling your home, but it means your estate agent fees are paid too. We can be your guaranteed buyer, enabling you to stay in your old home until your new one is ready.”

Explaining the process, Brian said: “We arrange some home valuations and then provide a part exchange offer within seven days, so you could be in a new Linden home within 28 days from reservation – or in Kevin’s case, just 13 days!”

There are just two luxurious five bedroom detached homes available at Beechfield Grove. The three storey homes have been completed and comprise a stunning living room with a log burning stove, a fantastic open plan kitchen/dining area with double doors leading out to the garden and a practical utility room. On the first floor there is an en-suite bedroom, three additional bedrooms and a family bathroom, with a spacious master bedroom with an en-suite shower room on the second floor.

Brian said: “The homes are really light and spacious and you don’t appreciate how good the layouts are until you visit. Each house has been built to a very high specification, featuring double garages and integrated kitchens with appliances included; the attention to detail is fantastic.”

Ray Voisey, senior site manager at Beechfield Grove, won a prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Award 2015 for his work at the development. For more details and to book a viewing call 01752 522954.
