Special Delivery... Brand New Home For First Time Buyers Naomi And Dan
13 Nov 2013

WHILE most people do online research or make a special trip to site to see what a new homes development has to offer, post lady Naomi McCready stamped her approval in a different way!

The 22-year-old Royal Mail worker has been delivering post to properties at Linden Homes’ De Aston Park development in Market Rasen for the past two and a half years.

Her daily rounds have given her a first hand look at the homes, the quality of build, the stylish designs… and instant information on incentives to help first time and other purchasers through advertising around the development.

Armed with all the information, Naomi – who currently lives in Market Rasen – and her partner, welder Dan Watts (22) were able make the decision to move from renting to buying.

Naomi said:  “We have been renting a property in the town for the past two years because we simply haven’t been able to afford a place of our own.

“I’ve been delivering mail to De Aston Park for some time and have always likes the homes there, and on seeing all the incentive information around the development about help for first time buyers, we decided to find out more.”

The couple have now reserved their brand new home, the development’s show home in fact, thanks to the Government’s Help to Buy scheme - and move in at the end of November, spending their first Christmas together in their new dream home.

Naomi added: “We would have never been able to move this quickly without the Help to Buy scheme – and we realise how much more cost effective it is to buy rather than rent long term. We are really looking forward to moving in and making De Aston Park our home. It will also be great for work!”

The couple used the popular Help to Buy scheme to purchase their home – but you don’t have to be a first time buyer to take advantage of the incentive. Here’s how it works:

  • It is available on new build homes only.
  • Purchasers need a minimum five per cent deposit.
  • The government will lend you up to 20 per cent of the value of your property through an equity loan, which can be repaid at any time or on the sale of your home.
  • Buyers will only need to secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage from a bank or building society.
  • The maximum home purchase is £600,000

The De Aston Park development currently has a number of two, three and four-bedroom properties for sale – some of which are ready to move into now and others which are due for imminent completion.

The sales and marketing suite is open from 10.30am until 5pm on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Alternatively contact the sales team on 01673 844555.
