Linden Homes Western is holding an open weekend at its Impact development in Midsomer Norton to explain how the Government’s new Help to Buy* scheme can help you get on – or move up – the property ladder.
The award-winning housebuilder is holding the Help to Buy event this weekend, May 18 and 19, and staff will be on hand to offer free advice and guidance on this, and other, flexible moving schemes.
Sue Scholfield, Sales Director at Linden Homes Western, said: “We have seen a lot of interest in Help to Buy but there is still some confusion about who qualifies for the scheme and how it works.
“The purpose of this weekend is to give potential new home buyers the opportunity to have a look around this stunning development and ask questions about the scheme.”
Help To Buy is open to all qualifying home buyers of new-build properties in England up to the value of £600,000 – not just first-time buyers. Under the scheme, the Government provides an interest-free loan for the first five years of up to 20% of the property value. This means that, with a minimum deposit of 5%, a new home can be secured with a 75% mortgage. The Government loan can be repaid at any time or on the sale of the property.
Among the house styles available at Impact, which is on Nightingale Way, is The Stratton, a four-bedroom, three-storey home that also offers a large work space above the garage to meet the rise in demand for home working.
Sue Scholfield added: “We are well known for designing homes that reflect modern living and The Stratton is a perfect example of how we can help homeowners achieve a better work/life balance. Alternatively the space could be used as a games or hobby room.”
On the ground floor, The Stratton has a large open plan kitchen, dining and living area as well as a handy cloakroom, while the first floor has a living room with balcony and the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. On the second floor are three further bedrooms – one of which also benefits from a balcony – and a family bathroom.
