Construction work is entering the final stages at Linden Homes’ Didcot Grove location in Harwell, where more than three quarters of the homes have now been completed.
The housebuilder has finished 53 of the 76 homes it is delivering at the site off Didcot Road, while 37 of the 49 homes it is building for private sale have already been reserved or completed.
The other 27 properties are being provided as affordable housing for rent or shared ownership.
Didcot Grove features a range of two to five-bedroom houses and one-bedroom maisonettes, along with public open space including a children’s play area.
Alix Laflin, marketing manager for Linden Homes, said: “It’s been a pleasure to see new residents moving into their homes, and we’re proud to see a new community forming at Didcot Grove.
“We’re now entering the final quarter of construction work and we anticipate being able to welcome buyers into the last completed homes at the development at the beginning of next year.”
As part of the planning agreement for Didcot Grove, Linden Homes is investing more than £1.5 million in the local community. This includes £1.1 million in education contributions, more than £220,000 towards sports facilities, £62,000 for bus services, £34,000 towards Harwell Village Hall and £18,000 towards youth activities.
Didcot Grove will also include a unique and distinctive piece of public art in the public open space, which will be installed in autumn this year.
Alix said: “Didcot Grove has proved to an extremely popular location with house-hunters, as the fact that 60 per cent of the homes for sale here have now been snapped up demonstrates. The location has been a major draw. Indeed, customers have told us how much they like living in a village setting which is within easy reach of Didcot town centre and the railway station.
“The varied mix of properties has also been a big factor. Didcot Grove offers everything from spacious five-bedroom detached family houses to one-bedroom maisonettes as well as competitively priced three-bedroom houses ideal for first-time buyers and young families.”
There’s currently a choice of one-bedroom maisonettes priced from £275,00, and a selection of three and five-bedroom houses starting at £197,500, available to reserve at Didcot Grove.
