Looking For A New Home? Let Linden North Take You To Your Happy Place
17 Mar 2016

When it comes to snapping up that dream home, more than half of Brits worry that a lack of money will stop them from achieving their goal – according to a new study.

Less than one in 10 homeowners currently consider their home to be perfect, with 55 per cent saying they have a long list of desired changes and improvements.

With many claiming they don’t have the time, money or expertise to spend on an existing property – Linden Homes North says there is always the option of buying new.

A new home can not only tick the ‘happy feeling’ box, but can be less expensive than buyers may initially think.

And being ready to move into, with brand new kitchen, bathroom, energy efficient features and a clutter-free space, a new home won’t need any improvements or DIY projects to shell out on.

With a new home, you can:

  • Buy off plan and snap up your preferred home from the drawing board if you reserve during the early stages of the development. Buyers can also take advantage of early-release prices – often before the show home opens.
  • Enjoy cost-curbing incentives like the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme, Part Exchange and Assisted Move. These can help first time buyers looking to step onto the housing ladder – and often allowing them to buy more home for their money – as well as current homeowners with an existing property to sell.
  • Benefit from less maintenance. Old homes may have more character but they also need more maintenance than new ones; like new guttering, replacement windows or extra roof insulation.
  • Save on your bills. New homes are more energy efficient, making them cheaper to run that an older one – thanks largely to modern boilers, double-glazing and thermostat controlled radiators.
  • Be offered a blank canvas on which to put your own personal stamp. Buyers can choose kitchen units and bathroom wall tiles, subject to the build stages. A new garden means there is scope for unique landscaping to suit a customer’s individual taste.
  • Have peace of mind as all new homes come complete with a New Homes Building Council 10-year guarantee or similar warranty. As well as a valuation on a second hand property, most would-be purchasers would need to pay out for a homebuyer’s report - and then there is the possibility of a full structural survey on top of that!
  • New homes often have features many buyers may take for granted, including ensuite facilities and added security aspects including smoke detectors.

According to the report (a study of 2,000 homeowners) reasons why Brits feel like their home will never be perfect include:

  • Not enough money to complete work
  • In need of professional work
  • Always be something that needs doing
  • It’s an on going project
  • Not enough time to spend on it
  • Projects are too big
  • The desire to move
  • Lack of motivation

Linden Homes North sales director Steve Woomble said: “There are so many great reasons to move to a brand new home. Buyers have fantastic choice when it comes to location and style of the home, as well as being able to take advantage of money saving incentives like Help to Buy and Part Exchange.

“Apart from choosing where to put your belongings and arranging your rooms to suit your taste, there is very little to do when moving into a new home – apart from sitting back and enjoying it!”
