Londoners Spy The Potential Of New Homes At Riverside In Godalming
04 Aug 2014

A flow of Londoners have been leaving the capital to settle down at award-winning Linden Homes’ collection of high quality homes at Riverside in Godalming, Surrey.

More than half of the sought-after new homes have already been reserved and in recent months most of the buyers have moved from south-west London, such as Kingston, Twickenham and Richmond.

Out of the total 110 homes being constructed at the beautifully located development on the banks of the River Wey, 60 have been sold since arriving on the market in September 2013. They’ve sold fast and there are just eight left in the current phase.

The leafy development comprises a thoughtful arrangement of traditionally designed yet contemporary and very spacious two, three and four-bedroom homes, as well as two-bedroom apartments.

About 45 per cent of purchases have been through Help to Buy which has conveniently opened up the options for househunters by offering support for those with deposits as low as five per cent to step onto the property ladder or climb further up it.

The riverside position has been a huge draw too, with four of the eight homes currently on the market that enjoy enviable views directly over the river already sold. Public access is open to the banks and there is also a play park to entertain youngsters.

The wider location also helps to explain Riverside’s emergence as a highly sought-after new neighbourhood close to the centre of the historic market town of Godalming.

For getting further afield, for instance, the A3 runs north-south and Guildford is less than 20 minutes away by car. Train commuters have a choice of two mainline stations each about a mile away, Godalming and Farncombe. Both run direct into London Waterloo in about 45 minutes.

Natalie Flint, Linden Homes Guildford’s sales and marketing director, said: “Since Christmas we’ve seen lots of buyers – especially couples looking to start a family – looking to leave London and come to settle at Riverside.

“The feedback we’ve had is that buyers are really attracted by the excellent value, beautiful surroundings, and a location that is incredibly convenient for getting into the capital and further afield for work commitments.

“Homes are being sold off-plan at a very fast rate to a variety of people, but first-time buyers and professionals are particularly well represented. The popularity is no surprise because Riverside has so much to offer for a range of budgets and lifestyles.

“The support of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme has been a major boost for purchases too by giving people with deposits as low as five per cent the opportunity to make their home at Riverside. We’re urging people to act now to avoid missing out.”

In common with all Linden Homes properties, each Riverside home comes with integrated kitchen appliances as standard, plus a 10-year NHBC warranty and two-year customer care warranty for peace of mind.
