Local suppliers supported at Linden Homes launch events in Langham

Local suppliers have been involved in two Linden Homes launch events for the forthcoming Langham Meadows location in Langham.

Vistry Group held an information day for prospective purchasers on Saturday 3 September at Langham Community Centre, with refreshments provided by Frinton Golf Club.

A second event, when the first homes were released for sale, was also held at the centre on Saturday 24 September, and also involved the golf club’s catering team.

Golf club catering manager James Oxley said: “It was nice to be involved in a community event. I live close to Langham and have a good relationship with those in the village. It is a lovely area, and we took our children to school here.

“We work at the community centre a lot to provide catering for events like this. We provided tea, coffee and fresh juices as well as homemade cakes and cookies.

“We had also been looking forward to catering for the launch of the first homes for sale in phase one of Langham Meadows later in the month which was equally successful.”

Vistry is building 20 new properties under the Linden Homes brand in phase one at Langham Meadows, including a choice of three-bedroom houses which will be completed in time to meet the Help to Buy construction deadline at the end of December this year.

Help to Buy helps first-time buyers secure a new-build home under the regional price cap of £407,400 with a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is provided in the form of a Government-backed equity loan, which is interest free for the first five years. To be eligible for the scheme, reservations must be made by 31 October this year.

Jason Colmer, sales and marketing director of Vistry Eastern, said: “The information day on Saturday 3 September was a good opportunity for potential purchasers to find out more about the new properties we are building in Langham and for first-time buyers to find out more about the Help to Buy scheme, before the launch on 24 September.

“It was also a great opportunity to involve the local community in the event by using local suppliers for the catering. The additional spending in the area which comes with the building of new homes is one of the key benefits for local businesses which we are keen to encourage.

“Saturday’s event was very well received by Langham residents. We look forward to welcoming new potential buyers and being at the start of their journey to find a new home.”

As part of the planning agreement for Langham Meadows, Vistry will be investing more than £200,000 in local primary education, as well as £44,000 in secondary school transport. A further £303,000 will be donated to local parks and recreation, community facilities, healthcare, and ecology benefits.
