Linden Homes West Midlands Welcomes Stamp Duty Autumn Statement Announcement

Linden Homes West Midlands has welcomed the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement announcement cutting stamp duty rates for the majority of housebuyers.

Andrew Richards, group managing director at Linden Homes said: “We are encouraged to see yet another proactive measure from the government to maintain momentum in the housing market. Along with ‘Help to Buy’ reducing the additional financial consideration imposed by stamp duty makes it even more affordable for people to get on the property ladder, or make that all important next step up.

“Currently the national average house price for a Linden Home is £305,000. Based on this amount, the stamp duty payable previously would amount to £9,150. Under the new rules this would reduce to £5,250 – a saving to the customer of £3,900.

“We believe this announcement will bring another welcome boost to general confidence, and get the housing market moving consistently in the right direction.”
