Linden Homes Launches Noble Restoration In Epsom
05 Mar 2012

Around 90 years after it was first built, a former Victorian hospital site in the heart of Epsom will be returned to its former glory as part of a new housing development by award-winning housebuilder Linden Homes.

Noble Park’s Kipling building is being fully restored and converted into nine luxury apartments, known as Kipling Court. Built in the 1920s, the stately building incorporates classic Victorian features and has remained an iconic part of Epsom’s landscape – occupying a prominent place on the town’s outskirts.

The nine luxurious apartments are available in a range of layouts, with one and two bedrooms, while one sprawling apartment offers three bedrooms. Each one seamlessly blends original features with modern conveniences for optimal comfort, and comes with fully fitted kitchens, including: integrated appliances, a choice of ceramic bathroom tiling and double-glazed timber sliding sash windows. Kipling Court residents will also have access to communal bike storage – helping to encourage greener travel choices.

This is the second in a series of meticulous restorations Linden Homes is undertaking in the town. At the nearby development, Moments at Parkviews, the company recently restored an admin building on the former hospital site into a collection of luxury apartments now known as The Regency. Like the Kipling building, restoration works involved refurbishment of the grand façade as well as the sash windows, ceilings and grand entrance hall.

And, the hotly anticipated final phase of this historical journey - The Chestnut - is also now underway. The collection, which will comprise of just six two-storey houses in a range of two and three-bedroom and layouts, are scheduled for completion in June.

For each project, specialist teams of architects and tradespeople have been involved in the works to ensure the original character and integrity of the buildings is maintained, while guaranteeing they offer buyers a luxurious place to live. Careful restoration work has focused on the building’s façade, as well as ornate original features including the sash windows, decorative ceilings and stone pillars to the building’s grand entrance.

Steve Bangs, managing director of Linden Homes’ South East division, said: “The redevelopment of the Kipling building is yet another example of Linden Homes’ dedication to preserving much-loved local landmarks for future generations. Historic buildings such as this are an integral part of our local history, and as such Linden Homes wants to ensure they have a bright future.”

He added: “The classic Victorian façade of Kipling Court greets visitors from the tree-lined drive, and the apartments have generated enormous interest thanks to their unique character and luxurious design.”

Linden Homes’ success in design and restoration excellence, the company recently won the coveted Best Design Award at the Housebuilder Awards 2011, in recognition of its work on The Two Coves, a redevelopment of the historic Duporth Holiday Village on the Cornwall coast.

Noble Park sits on the doorstep of Epsom Common and is nestled around the listed six-storey water tower with French chateau-style roof, an iconic landmark that can be seen from afar. Just a stone’s throw from Epsom’s town centre, residents can enjoy thriving high street shopping, twice-weekly markets and access to London by train in just 35 minutes.

A number of apartments have already been reserved, including the stunning three-bedroom apartment overlooking the central green. For more information, call Linden Homes on 0844 488 3760.
