Crowds flock to Burntwood Square charity event, spurring more interest for unique housing development

Burntwood Square in Brentwood was host to hoards of families and interested home buyers this weekend as Linden Homes opened its doors for a charity open day at the new development.

The event run by housebuilder of the year, Linden Homes was set up in partnership with Essex-based charity, SNAP to raise funds for the local cause. It gave chance for new and prospective residents to look around the stunning new development and also witness the unveiling of a play area and sensory garden on the site.

The day also included a balloon race, which saw proceeds going to the SNAP (Special Needs And Parents) charity, with over 100 balloons set off from the site which comprises of both refurbished homes and new builds inclusively.

Visitors enjoyed a BBQ and refreshments on site to see them through the day’s proceedings including the balloon release and play park opening, which were both conducted by Nicola Hitchcock, Trustee at SNAP. Nicola also received a £5,000 cheque donation from Linden Homes, its subcontractors and suppliers.

SNAP helps families in Essex who have children aged 0-25 years with special needs and disabilities. The children's disabilities are wide-ranging including autism, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, sensory impairment, speech and language difficulties and learning disabilities. The charity aims to inform, encourage and support parents, and ultimately become better equipped to give the best possible help to their children.

Nicola was delighted to receive the funds from Linden Homes and commented: “I was absolutely astounded at the very kind donation from Linden Homes Eastern, its various suppliers and subcontractors. We are always grateful for contributions to our cause which helps so many families in the Essex area, and I know that we will really benefit from this impressive donation.

Nicola continued: “On a personal level, I was amazed at the impressive job Linden Homes has done with the old hospital and care unit buildings. I used to attend the premises for meetings years ago, so it was rather interesting to see how they have renovated the old buildings in such a tasteful way, and kept the beautiful grounds intact.”

Gareth Jacob, sales and marketing director said: “It was lovely to have some of the families that SNAP supports join the open day at our development. It was great to hear their positive feedback on the relaxed environment down at the site too, as an ideal place to live as a family. It was clear that the children loved the play area, which I know will be another draw for new buyers who want a safe place for children to play without disturbing other local residents. It’s not surprising that we have already sold or reserved half of the properties on the site, and we expect the remaining houses and apartments to get snapped up very quickly!”

The sheer variety of homes available, makes Burntwood Square all the more appealing to buyers, regardless of need or budget.  There is something to suit every requirement, including Jubilee Mews, a stunning conversion of Victorian buildings, made up of two and three bedroom homes, which still have the character and original architectural heritage maintained. Furthermore, there are three and four bedroom family homes available – and it won’t be long until some larger, detached houses are added to the mix.
